Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Florida

Non-cooperative co-trustees

I am one of four remaindermen of a family trust set up by deceased Grandfather. The Co-trustees are my father who is also the income beneficiary and my sister (a remainderman). The two are at each others throats with constant threats, playing family members off against each other, etc. Each one blaming the other of conflict of interest, etc. Now father has threatened unilaterly to have her removed as co-trustee. In the meantime I have made requests for accounting and disclosure and have received nothing. Father says I'm not entitled to any; sister says it's too much work. As a remainderman, what recourse do I have? After 6 years I have yet to receive an inventory of assets.

Re: Non-cooperative co-trustees

If they are wasting assets so there is nothing left you certainly do have rights. Speak with an attorney. A court order may be necessary. Good luck.
