Legal Question in Workers Comp in Florida

i work in the dli dept for publix. a few months ago i tripped over a cord that was supposed to be tucked away. i injured my back. i am seeing the drs that publix tells me to see. the publix dr said i can work in a seated position and be able to stand after 15 minutes. they now have me working as a cashier. i have not been trtained as a cashier so the front end manager is making it very uncomfortable for me. speaking of uncomfortable my back hurts each time i have to twist and turn moving the items. here is my question. because i am such a loyal employee i have gone to work in pain and tried to stick it out. i have had to leave early because of the pain. on those days i have to clock out and i do not get paid. am i entitled to be paid for the days or hours i have missed? can i apply for social security disability? do i have a lawsuit for the misplaced cord causing me to fall? i am 72 years old. i have had a back surgery 17 years ago . my back has never bothered me since i had the surgery until i fell. am i eligable for any finanicial assistance?
