Legal Question in Workers Comp in Florida

workers com

I had a worker's comp settlement about 9 years ago. Now, 9 years later & for the first time, the insurance carrier is wanting a deposition from me & also want me to sign a medical records release for all of my health records. They have received all bills for the worker comp visits & I feel there is no need for them to want my private pay records, i.e., routine illness not related to the injury. I have paid all of my private visits for routine health care. Is there any reason, legally or morally, for me to sign such a release? I feel it is intrusive, unrelated & irrelevant to my work injury.

Re: workers com

If the case is settled, there should be no reason for them to care about you or your health. There must be something more to the story than this. A discovery deposition cannot be taken without an open claim. Go to this website and search for your name: http://www.jcc.state.fl.us/jcc/searchjcc/
