Legal Question in Disability Law in Georgia

Handicap Parking

My Stepfather recently became handicapped and lives in an apartment, the manager has not - after two weeks, provided handicapped access (gap in the sidewalk leading to his 1st floor apt.), nor is there a handicapped space in the parking area in front of the builiding. He was told to take care of it himself. What do we do?

Re: Handicap Parking

Put your request in writing and send a copy to the OWNER of the building, certified mail. 2 weeks is not a long time, but you need to start building your paper trail for legal action in the case they refuse to respond.

You might talk with the advocacy groups for disabled rights in your area,--they can give you some pointers on getting the work done.
