Legal Question in Banking Law in Georgia

I wrote a check to a company in 2008 but my account was closed due to theft before the cashed the check. I contacted the company and the rep came by a got cash for the check but didn't have my check with him and said they would rip up the check in the office. Last week I got a call from some third party company claiming they will issue a warrant for my arrest for this check. I explained the situation to them and they said it was hearsay since I didn't get the check back. What should I do and can I be arrest for a bad check?

Unfortunately, since you acted improperly, you have pay again. It's pretty obvious the rep simply stole your cash, but it's your fault since you didn't make him bring the check before you paid it. So pay it now, get a receipt this time, and learn from the experience.
