Legal Question in Business Law in Georgia

Invoicing

We are a non-profit homeowners association. Our attorney sent us an invoice dated 2/27/07 that included charges back to August of 2006. Are these old charges valid? How far back can we be invoiced?

Re: Invoicing

I also represebt HOAs. While it may not be the best bookkeeping practice not to stay current with billing, there is nothing illegal about billing for charges from the past.

Re: Invoicing

Presumably, people at the association know what the lawyer did and the terms of billing. Much like HOA dues, the debt does not go away if unpaid for a few months. That is an issue to be discussed with the lawyer. If you used the services, pay for them. Otherwise, discuss with the real live lawyer and not the message board lawyers.
