Legal Question in Business Law in Georgia

unauthorized porting

My business Jes Us Medical Billing phone number (678.945.7205) was disconnected Jan. 12, 2009 thru Jan. 15, 2009 due to unauthorized porting. According to AT&T they do not know how this happen.

My phones are the life line of our business as we have to communicate with medical providers, hospitals, patients and insurance companies on a daily basis.

This has hurt our company financially and we want to be compensated for the loss of business. We also want AT&T to take responsibility. What do you advise?

Re: unauthorized porting

It is likely that there is a limitation/waiver of such consequential damages as lost profits, which will basically preclude any claim for the loss of business. Of course, you can try and negotiate some kind of settlement with other leverage, such as account history and future use of their services.
