Wage Reduction
My daughter (age 17) worked at Subway for $7.00/hr and signed what they called a contract. One of the paragraphs read: ''Acknowledging that a responsible employee follows policies and procedures, I accept that Subway will reduce my wages to minimum wage, no matter what my current pay rate, if I am terminated for any reason..'' Since she was 17 is this a binding contract and can they reduce pay for time already worked before termination?

The terminology of the so called contract is questionable at best. It doesn't say exactly at what point they will reduce the wages, as of the date of the termination decision or retroactive from the beginning of the pay period. Therefore, if taken to small claims court or the Labor Department, there is a possibility that the particular section would be read in the light most favorable to your daughter.
I leave for another attorney to answer whether the contract is binding because she was 17 when she signed it
