Legal Question in Constitutional Law in Georgia

Interview Nightmare

I was refered to a large company for employment by a friend. Aparently the friend and the Office manager dicussed alot about me and my personal life i.e my daughter which is expecting twins. I had an interview with this manager and another from a different location. The interview did not consist of questions about me or me being capable of doing the job but the fact my daughter is expecting and how much help she will be needing after the babies come. I was put on the spot immediatly and had never had an interview of any sort that was about my personal life. Is this Legal?????

Re: Interview Nightmare

It's disgusting, offensive, despicable and unprofessional. I'm sorry you were subjected to such an offensive interview. Unfortunately, though, I do not see this as a situation the law provides a legal remedy for, at least in Georgia. There may be a glimmer of an argument about age discrimination here, since he seemed so concerned about potential grandparental obligations or status. But, that would probably not fly too well unless he had no idea you were over 40 before he interviewed you.
