Legal Question in Consumer Law in Georgia

False accusation

We have a leather chair purchased from La-z-boy that is damaged and under a warranty (Stainsafe) sold to us by the furniture store. We have been in contact with both La-z-boy and Stainsafe since July. My husband and I talked with the local store several times in an attempt to get help in resolving the matter. They were of no help and kept referring us to Stainsafe who also was of no help. On November 16th my husband and I visited the local store to speak with the manager about multiple fraud alerts we had read about on the internet similar to our plight. The manager was not there so my husband called him the next day. After several minutes the manager's tone changed and (unbelievably) he then stated that an employee told him that my husband had threated to throw a chair at the employee. I immediately e-mailed their corporate headquarters to report this ridiculous accusation. We were contacted by a vice-president of the region who would not listen to our story and who told a different story from that of the manager. We are dismayed and incredulous at the ploy this store has used to obviously try to get rid of us. Meanwhile Stainsafe has offered to replace the chair through La-z-boy and as you can imagine, La-z-boy isn't cooperating

Re: False accusation

Your post is not clear as to what you are asking. Your subject line is "false accusation," but you also discuss your attempt to get your warranty honored. If the former, you are probably no well-served to get worked up over it. A blow-by-blow, he said/she said, is rarely effective in addressing an issue to a business and often obfuscates the issue (as in the post here). If you are asking about your warranty, we don't have a copy and you didn't state anything about the terms. Thus, the only thing that can be said is read the warranty, follow all instructions in making a claim, and if nothing works, consider a small claims/Magistrate complaint.
