Legal Question in Criminal Law in Georgia

criminal / police record

i was arrested for burglary & criminal tresspass. Burglary was for taking pictures in someones yard. The burglary was dropped by the Ast. DA. I went to court and was foung guilty for criminal tresspass. The judge entered a direct verdict. Not guilty on Crim. Tresspass. I was found not guilty by jury on another charge. I sent paperwork to have record exspunged. I never got a reply. I need security clearence for my job. Will this cause me not to get clearence? Could I loose my job? Do I have a criminal or police record? Has this been exspunged automaticaly?

Re: criminal / police record

It is up to the DA to process the request to expunge the records. I do not think you should assume that he has or that it is automatic.

To do so might put you in jeopardy if you are reviewed or apply for a security sensitive position.

Under the facts as you have outlined them, it would appear that you should qualify.

Call if you wish to discuss this matter further.
