Legal Question in Criminal Law in Georgia

Legal Strip Search?

I was pulled over for following a police officer to close, once pulled over he wrote me tickets for 66 in a 65 and following to close, when i questioned the 66 said if i said anything he would write the whole book, i explained i just wanted to know , enraged he grabbed him ticket book and started writing more, i questioned again and he pulled me out of the car, i was arrested. he placed me in the back with a guy who got a dui and searched my car(without consent). at the jail the guy asked my arresting officer if i should be stripped searched, with a grin on his face he said yes, they told me i had to because the other guy had drugs on him. i was bailed out as soon as they fingerprinted me. In total i was arrested for the following:

66 in a 65

improper display of registration (i didn't put my sticker on yet but i had it in the glove box)

following to close

cracked windshield

and 3rd brake light out.

$1500 bond

i have NO criminal record prior to this besides minor traffic violations , should i take legal action since they had no reason to search me?

Re: Legal Strip Search?

the search of your car was legal ... incident to arrest. Also, the search at the jail was technically proper. Your best recourse would be a complaint to the Police chief, city commissioners and perhaps an article to the paper.
