Legal Question in Criminal Law in Georgia

misdeameanor convictions

If an adult had a misdeameanor for simple battery and only had to take anger management classes but within 2 years received another misdeameanor for cruelty to a minor but the minor admitted to being guilty and is on probation what will be the punishment for the adult? Could the case be dropped?

Re: misdeameanor convictions

The case could be dropped if the Solicitor General or District Attorney's Office sees fit to do so. The punishment for a misdemeanor can be up to twelve months in jail. What the exact punishment would be in your case is impossible to predict with any accuracy without knowing more about the case. Please call me to discuss the matter further.
