Legal Question in Criminal Law in Georgia

Several weeks ago I was out of visiting out of town - 644mi I managed to get a misdemeanor ticket for a small weed possesion charge ( wasn't mine, but he hid it in my car - When we both denied it of course they charged me) I cannot afford to travel that far back to court. I certainly don't want a bench warrant issued for me and they (GA) said they will suspend my driving priveleges. How do I start? I cannot afford to hire an attorney in that county to stand on my behalf. Do I call the prosecutor?

How do you know you can't afford to hire an attorney? Have you talked to any to find out how much they charge? Or what kind of payment plans they will accept.

First: DO NOT CALL THE PROSECUTOR. Second, get a lawyer, whether it be by funds from friends, family, church or otherwise.
