Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia

i have 3 kids that have been adopted in Ga. My oldest turned 17 today . we was told that at 17 she could come back home but now 7 years later they want allow her to come home is this true and legal.

Once a child is adopted, you have no legal relationship (ever) to the child. Age is irrelevant to that.

At age 18 a child is adult and can do as they please. If an 18 year old you gave up for adoption wants to see you, that is that child's choice. The child cannot make that choice at 17.

It is unfortunate that birth parents are often lied to by social services and other governmental officials about their rights. Definitely wait until the children turn 18. At that point, the state can't interfere with your relationship.

No one here knows who is giving you incorrect information, if anyone is lying to you, or whether the state is involved. However, the childrens' "homes" are with their adoptive parents. There is no "come back home" to the former parents. As others have stated, when the child reaches adulthood, they can visit any time they want (as far as the law is concerned).
