Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia

Child Support Taking Taxes

What can I do when my refund check is taken by the Georgia DHR for I have made child support payment and I am still behind and I have not seen my son in over 2yrs and in Georgia, the parent can not leave the state w/o the other parent permission and she did not get my authorization and now, I have lost me job and I need the money. Also, I want to just waive all my rights.

Re: Child Support Taking Taxes

THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS RELINQUISHING YOUR RIGHTS. The right to support belongs to the child. You chose to have sex and get someone pregnant and with that comes the responsibility to support that child. When you fail to do so the state will take your tax refund.

As for seeing your child, if you have a court order that was violated, you will need to hire a lawyer and pay him to enforce your rights.
