Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia

child support-prenatal care

Is there any legal basis for getting a father of a child to be to help in paying pre-natal and delivery costs? I am in a self pay pregnancy situation where the costs are high. My boyfriend does not want to help with the costs although he is very financially able. He is angry with me for not ending the pregnancy. Is there any way I can get him to help with the costs of prenatal care and delivery? Thank-you.

Yes, you must keep all the receipts or copies of all costs associated with the pregnancy and delivery expenses. Upon delivery of the child, file an action in court for paternity and in this petition you can demand to be reimbursed for the costs, as well as establish child support.
