Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia

How do I file an objection to a parent trying to dissolve a temporary guardianship? The parent (Father) is seeking to dissolve it so he can get the said child so that he wouldnt have to pay child support. He doesnt call after the childs welfare, doesnt support him, doesnt see him, and doesnt have a job, has no room for the child while he is living with his pregnant girlfriend and her child and parents. He has 2 other older children that he doesn't support either. This in the state of Georgia, USA

The father will have to bring a motion or petition in the court of the county which granted the temporary guardianship. If you are the temporary guardian, you are an "interested" party and will therefore be served with notice of the filing of such motion (which I assume is the case since you know about it). If I were in your shoes, I would hire a local family law lawyer to represent you and respond to the father's motion/petition. YOUR CHANCES OF SUCCESS ARE MUCH GREATER WITH A LAWYER ON YOUR SIDE. If the child is important enough to you, the cost of the attorney will be worth it. Plain and simple. You can also try and do this on your own, but the result will likely not be as favorable for you.

Best of luck.*****The above is for informational purposes only and does not create an attorney-client privilege.******

Either you try to challenge it without counsel, and likely have no chance, or you get a lawyer, go over the details and decide if the lawyer could help you.
