Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia

I filed for Divorce from my spouse in August of last year. My divorce is contested and has been dragging on for quite some time. I was able to attain temporary orders / Child support at the end of last year. After the temp orders were signed, we agreed to go to mediation. However, because I could not afford all of the attorney's fees, my attorney dropped the case. I received a letter from my attorney to inform me of the drop, but no further instructions. I am the plaintiff and just received a letter from the court that my Final Hearing in scheduled for the end of August. I am not really in the financial position to pay a huge retainer's fee again and get my divorce finalized. What are my options? Is it advisable to represent myself in court? If so, how do I prepare? Lost and need direction desperately!!

One should not be going into any divorce, especially a contested one, without counsel. If your children matter to you, find a way to get counsel. The fact that you don't know how to prepare makes that all the more important. There is no way in weeks you can learn what 3 years in law school and years of experience teach a lawyer.
