Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia

My husband committed suicide 6 years ago when our twins were 7 months old so I have been a single mother since then. My husband's family has had MINIMAL contact with us since then. Now, I have moved on and gotten remarried and my 1st husband's family is threatening to try to do something about my children. They have not exactly said what and, if they want to see us, I am still more than willing to let that happen. Do they have anything to stand on? Do I need to be worried that they could get some sort of joint custody of my children?

It is unlikely absent unusual facts or your unfitness that there would ever be a case, so don't worry about a non-existent case. In the very unlikely event they file a case, see a lawyer when they do.
