Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia

Prenuptial Agreement

We am getting married soon in Reno, Nevada. We might want to have a pernuptial agreement. I need a form with ''fill in the blanks'' or advise on how to list our individual assets owned now to avoide any future disputes in case of divorce.

Re: Prenuptial Agreement

You need to hire an attorney to prepare the agreement and make sure that the signing of the document is achieved in a manner that will make it enforceable. Call me if you want to discuss what this entails. The investment that you are making in your financial stability probably justifies the expense of obtaining legal assistance.

Re: Prenuptial Agreement

As stated, these are not "fill in the blanks." Moreover, it is something that should be handled by a lawyer who specializes in family law, and who has a lot of experience in these documents. It is not a fill-in form, or trial and error for a non-specialist, as errors may not be discovered until it is too late.

Re: Prenuptial Agreement

Don't even think of "fill in the blank." An improperly drafted prenuptial agreement will likely be invalid, and even worse, might be enforced differently than anticipated.

Don't wait for the last minute either, as an agreement is more likely to be upheld if both parties have counsel. Even if only one party has counsel, the other party should sign paperwork indicating that they were aware of that right. (One lawyer cannot talk to both sides).

My office does prenuptials for a reasonable fee. Call me if you'd like to make an appointment.
