I had a temporary consent order with my ex-husband for six monthes which was filed on December 29,2006. If this matter was not resolved within the 6 month period what legal actions take place? I received a final consent order but not until July of 2010.

No one here has read the order so you ask your lawyer, but most properly worded temporary orders state they remain in effect until further order of court. If your lawyer did not get such language, you need to have him explain why not.
