Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Georgia

Class action threshold

What are the legal thresholds that are required for a group to be certified as a 'class' by a judge and to file a class action lawsuit? I am looking for the minimum quantity of the people and the actual dollar amounts involved for the class to be certified.

Re: Class action threshold

A "class" is not based uponn the number of persons or the dollar amount. The law defines a class as "being so numerous as to make it impracticable to bring them all to court when one would failly insure adequate representation of all." Look to O.C.G.A. section 9-11-23.
