Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Georgia

Homeowners Assocation Records

The President of the Board of our homeowners assocation, a non-for-profit in Georgia, refuses to provide meeting minutes, financial information, of the other required records stating that they are discussed at previous committee meetings so there is no need to show them again.

I have repeatedly asked for these records, and now they are threatening to sue me for harassment.

Re: Homeowners Assocation Records

You have not asked a question, however, the governing documents of your association, which you should have received at the time of purchase, should spell out your rights and the Associations obligations with respect to the Association Records.

In general, Associations are permitted to make and enforce reasonable rules for the administration of the Association including inspection of documents.
