can I do anything about an ex-boyfriend sending private photos of me, without consent, to friends?

Without knowingwhat the pictures show, a response would be pure speculation. People send pictures, post them on the internet, all the time. Sure, you can pay a lawyer several thousand dollars to file a suit. You can pay a lawyer to write a letter, but that may (or may not) escalate the situation. Are the pictures worth that expense, or is it a personal spat? Only you know.

You can seek a restraining order and sue him form damages. Consult with an attorney.
