A my brother-in-law recently died. The funeral parlor requested 7,000.00 for thier services. The insurance compay agreed to write a check to them along with my sister signing it. The funeral parlor said they will not accept it unless they know what the full amount of the insurance policy is. Why would they do this?
It doesn't make sense. Their fees should not be contingent upon the value of the life insurance policy. Hopefully you received their earlier bill in writing. At this point, it seems as if they are considering an increase in cost of their services.
Best of luck,
The best place to find out why is to ask them.
I cannot think of a legitimate reason. My own opinion is that this sounds irregular to me.
