Legal Question in Employment Law in Georgia

Lack of performance!

What are Ga employmemnt laws regarding lic. real estate agents that are on an employment contract? I was the companies top agent last month (April) finishing 275% of quota, and just finished 2nd quarter at 121% of quota, yet they fired me for lack of performance without any notice or written warnings etc. I have heard this top Atlanta builder is known for this. They do have a pattern/trend when it comes to top agents. Money owed to you falls to the bottom line based on their sliding scale. They profit you loose thousands. Are we not the procuring cause?

Re: Lack of performance!

Unfortunately, in the state of Georgia, you can be fired for any reason or no reason at all, unless it is an illegal one (based on discrimination, etc.). However, depending on the terms specified in your employee handbook or offer letter, you may still be entitled to the commission you earned before you were fired. If you would like to discuss your case further, feel free to either call or email me directly.
