Legal Question in Employment Law in Georgia

I live in Metro Atlanta. I went to work and there was no power in the facility. We (other employees and I) the power bill was past due. We tried to call the owner of the business, but received no call back after two days. We called the other affiliated businesses and there was no answer. Can we go apply for unemployment?

It appears that you are involuntarily unemployed for reasons other than willful misconduct disregard for the employer's lawful instructions. Your position is that of a person who has been unexpectedly laid off. This is what unemployment insurance is meant for. You should apply and you should receive it.
