Legal Question in Employment Law in Georgia

I have a mom that has been dired from a state prison position in a prison. She got hurt on the job about 2 years ago. Whent out on workmans comp, and had surgery. She is out for the second time for a difrent on the job injury whithin 2 years. She is curently on workmans comp, and has been out for 6 weeks. The questions are, does she have a case, and can she be fired if she is out on workmans comp, per doctors request. There is no light duty in a prison. This injury is to her knee and cant climb stairs.

There is no way for us to know all relevant details from your post. Being out on Workers Comp does not mean she has a job and paycheck from now on. As she apparently has been terminated, she can get a meeting with a workers comp lawyer in her area (most likely a free initial meeting) to discuss all facts and details.
