Legal Question in Employment Law in Georgia

Paying Employees when they have jury duty or are subpoenaed

Recently, an employee of mine was subpoenaed to court. I am wondering if as her employer I am responsible for paying her for this time off work. I believe I am responsible for jury duty but not subpoenas.

Thanks!

Re: Paying Employees when they have jury duty or are subpoenaed

You are correct that no law requires you to pay for time missed due to subpoena, but Georgia law does provide that an employee cannot be terminated for appearing in court pursuant to a subpoena. You are also correct about jury duty.
