Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Georgia

I was renting an apartment and had a years lease and it renewed automatically every year. well after i finished my first year i moved bc my landlord would never fixing the problems in my apartment. i.e. leaking roof and a rotted hole in my shower from a leak from the inside of the wall and a couple other small things. now hes trying to sue me for another years rent bc i didnt give hima 60 day notice in writing that i was leaving. i know i signed the lease but i have rights as a tenant to. what can i do

The landlord has the lease. What do you have to show that the landlord did not fix the problems, and they were so severe you had to move? If you just up and moved without properly resolving these issues, then you will likely lose. That is not how to handle these things in a responsible manner.
