Is a contingency fee contract voided by the death of the client when no settlement has been reached prior to death?

My best opinion without actually researching this issue is "no." The contract would remain in force between the lawyer and the estate of the deceased. Of course, the executor of the estate could terminate the contract but the lawyer would be entitled to compensation for working on the case.
