You need to provide more facts -- How did the accident occur? Was it your cousin's fault? Did you have your seat-belt on? Was it a defect in the vehicle? Hopefully your cousin had auto insurance. Hopefully you do to.

My recommendation is to consult with a plaintiff's attorney BEFORE you speak to any insurance companies. Your attorney will know how to negotiate with the insurance company and obtain the best settlement possible for you. If the insurance companies will not cooperate, your attorney can discuss your options, including potentially suing the insurance companies, as well as your cousin.

Best of luck.******The above is for informational purposes only and does not create an attorney-client privilege.*******

Step one is get a lawyer.

You may be able to make a claim against your own insurer, or an insurer for the driver if he has his own insurance.

Talking to the insurer first can compromise your case. Feel free to call me with more details.
