Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Georgia

Lease agreements

Lease agreement ended September

30, 2007. Lease stated tenant needs to give 60 days notice to terminate binding agreement. Landlord has stated that tenant may vacate residence in 30 days if tenant forfeits security deposit. Since lease in now outdated and no new lease agreement has been signed is tenant obligated to forfeit security deposit if residence is vacated in 30 days with prior notice?

Re: Lease agreements

It seems as though you are now month to month and must give at least that much notice before vacating. If the landlord does not return your deposit within 30 days of vacating or fails to give you notice they are keeping it and what for, you may have a claim against him/her depending on how many units they manage. Sit down with an attorney if you have further questions.
