Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Georgia

Property Lines

I have been living at my present address for 16 years. The neighbor next to me lets the neighborhood kids ride their 4 wheelers thru 10 feet of my yard because he said when he moved in two years ago he had it surveyed and it was actually his property. I had this surveyed twice over the last 16 years but the pins are no longer there and I cannot afford to have it surveyed again. Is there such a thing (if my neighbor is correct) as the statue of limitations on property lines?

Re: Property Lines

If your neighbor will not allow you to look at his survey, you can purchase a copy of it from the surveyor who performed it. Allowing the trespass situation to continue may lessen your claim to the property in the event that it really does belong to you.

Re: Property Lines

The important question is the boundaries. If you are unable to get one, you can ask to review the neighbors. If he is correct, he should be happy to show you.
