Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Georgia

Recently my chimney began to sink in the ground. I've had contractors come out to look at it and it is going to cost around $12,000 to repair. When talking to my neighbor yesterday (a contractor), he said that the previous owner knew about the sinking chimney because he had contacted him about repairing it. This was not disclosed to me during the sale. Does this entitle me to any legal action?

Usually not. The answer depends in large part on what your sales contract and sales documents say. Did you buy the house as is? Were you given the right to inspect the property? Etc. Take your papers to a lawyer to review.
