Legal Question in Sexual Harassment in Georgia

sexual harassement

Is it too late to file for sexual harassement? I was working at a job from 2002-2007 almost 2 years ago.

Re: sexual harassement

It depends. If there was touching in private areas, that would be sexual battery, a tort under Georgia law. There is generally a 2 year statute of limitation for such torts.

If it was minor touching (not sufficient to be a tort under Georgia law) and/or verbal sexual harassment you would have had only 180 days to file a charge with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC).

In either case you would want to consult with an attorney who handles sexual harassment cases like myself.
