Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Georgia

My grandmother deeded me my house in 2002, she put a clause in there that she would have life time use. My aunt got Power of attorney in 2007 and made me start paying her rent. I moved out and turned the keys in to her attorney. She has been also renting out my house. My grandmother has passed away, and now I find out that my aunt has not paid property taxes on my house for 2007, 2008, an 2009. The tax office has a lien against my house and it is just before going for auction. How can I legally make her pay those taxes?

No one here has the documents, but why should your aunt pay now? On what basis do you think she is, or was ever, liable for the taxes? Claims again your grandmother should have been made against her estate. If there were no assets, you still might have a pretty good deal by paying the taxes and keeping the house.

I agree with Scott and would add that you need to go see a lawyer before the property gets sold at a tax sale.
