Legal Question in Intellectual Property in Idaho

does someone have rights to my music?

I own the copyright to my sound recording, music and lyrics. Does another party who played on the recording have any rights to my music? Do I need to have an assignment of copyright for this to be protected?

Re: does someone have rights to my music?

WHat was your contract?

Obviously he or she has no rights to the music if performed again, but if the recording is sold, how was he/she to be compensated? If a "studio fee" was paid, they usually waive all future royalty rights.(This is how Little Richard et al. got screwed in the 50's).

Otherwise, contracts usually allocate percentage for future comp.
