Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

My son has a 6 month old daughter and no custody or child support has ever been done, what rights does he have to keep his daughter if he doesnt feel she is safe with her mother?

He doesn't have any rights unless he has signed a Voluntary Acknowledgment of Paternity (VAP) or he has been to court to establish visitation and support. If he fees that the child is unsafe with the mother, he should contact DCFS and let them make a determination.
