Legal Question in Business Law in Illinois

Staffing agency

The staffing agency i work for all of a sudden started putting on our payroll stub: pay rate less than what we were told then put the other half down as mileage, but we were not told this and now it shows we were paid mileage but we were not.

Re: Staffing agency

That is a serious claim. If the agency is not paying you what you were supposed to be paid, you must sue them immediately. How much of a difference are you talking about? And how many people did not get paid properly?

Re: Staffing agency

From your question, it sounds to me like you are receiving the correct amount of money, but a portion of it is being allocated to mileage, when in fact you do not have a mileage claim. This is fraud, plain and simple. The staffing agency is trying to avoid paying taxes and insurance on that "mileage" money. You need to get this corrected immediately. For one thing, you are participating in this fraud if you do not. For another, you are not getting the proper credit for your social security contribution. If they refuse to correct this, contact the Illinois Department of Labor and run away very quickly.
