Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Illinois

My boyfriend has received papers for an upcoming court case for credit card debt of about 1,400 dollars. He may have an outstanding warrant for missing court 2 years ago for driving on a suspended liscense. Can he be taken into custody when he goes to court?

It is certainly possible. I have actually seen it happen twice. Keep in mind, if he does not appear on the small claims case, or if he does not have an attorney appear on his behalf, a default judgment will be entered against him.
