Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Illinois

Hello,

My mother was recently called by a collection agency.They left a number for me to call,so i did. This lady said she would sue me, garnish my wages and take my drivers license.I never received anything from this person.She scared me into giving her my bank info.Should i close my bank account and seek a lawyer?
