Legal Question in Criminal Law in Illinois

hey, what to do if a bank from another state is suspecting me of fraud and no crime was committed, they say fraudulant accounts were opened but attempts were made to steal money and never succeeded. the wierd part is, that they want me to call them because they think i may have sumthing to do with it but they are not for sure. they say my phone number was used to establish the fraudulant accounts. they said if i dont give them a call within 4 days that they were going to send the case to my cities police department. i never used my number to open accounts in other peoples names, and they really dnt have proof thats why they are emailing me and telling me to call. what should i do?

Hey?

My guess is that this is a phishing scam. Perhaps you can contact the police in your area, or suggest to the "bank" that you would be happy contact the police in their area. I bet that will be the last you hear from them.
