making statements

police in burr ridge illinois, want me to make a statement of what happen to some missing monitors, where i used to work,,, i said to them i do not have to answer any questions.... please advise me more

You are correct, you have no obligation to make a statement to the police if you do not wish to do so. This may not be true if there turns out to be a grand jury investigation. Grand juries have greater authority to compel testimony than police have.

You were correct that you do not have to answer any questions. Unfortunately, your being uncooperative might make them suspicious of you.

You should talk to an attorney to get advice on how to proceed. That advice will probably start with "wait and see," but if the police want to arrest you or ask more questions, you will want to have an attorney at the ready.
