shoplifting punishments in IL

I am 26 years old and this is my first offense. I was not charged with a felony.

the maximum penalty for a Class A is one year in jail and a $2500 fine. the usual sentence for a first offense is much less. Call me if you want to discuss.

The penalty for shoplifting/ retail theft is up to 364 days in Cook County Jail, and up to $2,500.00, in fines, plus costs. There is a chance for you to walk away with no record. Please contact me immediately.

This is a misdemeanor and has a possible penalty of up to one year in jail and/or a fine of up to $2500.
