Taking out into an alley and assulted

I was at a bar last weekend and my fiance and I were taken out of the facility. She pulled away from the bouncers and asked why we had been removed from the bar and was punched in the face and pushed to the ground. I tried to move toward her but was thrown to the ground and repeatedly kicked in the face. She was able to make the five men stop striking me by threatening legal action. However, while I was regaining my senses one of the bouncers ran to a nearby officer and asked to press charges against us. We were soon arrested for battery and taken to jail. My fiance has a large bruise on her face and I have two black eyes and my nose was almost broken. I have photographic evidence of my injuries and testamony that the individual whom pressed charges never had so much as a red mark on him. I would like to press charges but I am also attempted to apply to law school this fall and I know a undecided battery case will look very bad on my record. Neither of us have violent history and we we both released on I-bonds due to our clean records. Any advice or legal referrals would be greatly appreciated.
