Legal Question in Entertainment Law in Illinois

03-02-2010 I met with JEROME JJ LEE and Rick of Chi-City Records, agreed upon being able to work with other Artist outside of Chi-City Records and other projects as long as it was communicated with Chi-City Records. Also was told a Notarized/Certified copy of the contract would be mailed to me the next business day. I still have not received it.

Between the dates of 03-02-2010 and 04-10-2010 I have travelled to Chi-City Records to listen to tracks/beats to take home so I can work on lyrics, all these times of driving over a hour, after working 8:30 to 5pm Monday Friday and on some Saturdays and Sundays, I am a single mother with a 6 year old Autistic son and do not have the time to waste on lies. I have not received the 3 tracks or the promised recording session and picking out music promised by Chi-City Records. I am not being compensated by Chi-City and does not owe Chi-City Records anything. Im tired of being lied to and misled by JEROME JJ LEE and Brian.

04-03-2010 Had an appointment with Brian Twin Holbrook (Engineer) to record after 1pm. I arrived at Chi-City Records 12:45pm, no one was there. I called, texted and left a note for anyone from Chi-City Records to contact me. So Lary Saladin (called to tell me he was there with Ms. Toni Elliott Bell working on some graphic stuff. Also that the artists was scheduled to have a vocal class at 3:30pm, I told him I would come back, no other artists showed up for the vocal class, I also called and texted JEROME JJ LEE explaining how I needed to talk with him, he texted me back to come in, I was 15 min away, arrived in 10 min, was told he went to the gas station and would be back because he knew I wanted to speak with him. After 30 minutes I texted him again, no response, he responded to Ms. Toni Elliott Bell that he was at a Convention.

04-07-2010 I sent email to JEROME JJ LEE regarding not receiving promised tracks, he replied to contact Chris Love Chief Producer and have him give me 3 tracks, I did on 04-07-2010 and 04-08-2010. Chris still has not responded to me.

04-10-2010.1.1.1.1 I arrived at Chi-City Records for Vocal Class at 5:30pm and to speak with JEROME JJ LEE, JEROME JJ LEE didnt show up and never replied to my texted messages until 11:33pm. I did not respond.

04-12-2010.1.1.1.1.1 JEROME JJ LEE sent me a text message at 2:20pm that he would be available to meet all week. I did not respond.

Is there a question in there somewhere? It sounds like you are just venting frustration with some JJ Lee who is non-professional and giving you the runaround "brush off", which probably means he is not interested in working with you. Please repost and add the legal question you want answered. I do not see a legal issue in your story unless you have a contract with Chi-City, which you say you don't. I suggest you respond to Mr. Lee and go see him and get a copy of the contract. Then if they do not follow it, and you have the money to pay an attorney, call me or another entertainment law attorney and we can review the contract and advise you. Attorneys in the entertainment field do not generally work for free since they are busy with paying clients and their time is what they sell, so keep that in mind.
