Husband abandons wife Feb. 2009 (Flew out of the country back to the UK)
Money loaned to wife by friend and pays from Feb. 2009 to Dec.2009 (11 Months) @ $1550.00 p.m.
=$17050.00.
Is the husband liable for 1/2 of rent ($8525.00) paid since his desertion?

Between h and w , no. If rent unpaid both are jointly liable. And if you could serve H with summons in england, how could you collect the judgment if all of his assets are in England? Hard to do.
