adoption

i have a 17 year old. was adopted by a family member. is pregnant and wants to come back with me. tried everything but cant get her back. what can i do? is there anything?

Hello. Under Illinois law,

adoptions are generally

final. However from a

practical point of view,

your daughter will soon have

reached the age of majority

and will be able to legally

make her own decisions which

seems to be her desire to

move with you. In an adoption

the birth certificate is altered and all parental

rights are legally terminated.

Therefore, I would suggests

waiting it out, until she

turns 18 and then she can

move with you.
